Charles Herman “Charlie” Boyer

Fines Creek, Charles Herman “Charlie” Boyer, 71, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

A native of Camden, South Carolina, he was the son of the late Earl Wayne and Lorene Boyer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, June Vella and Margaret Truesdale and a stepson, James Harrison. Charlie was a retired self-employed carpenter and later drove for Haywood Public Transit for eight years. He was a member of Waynesville Seventh Day Adventist Church and volunteered as its sound room assistant and also volunteered with Manna Food Bank. Charlie enjoyed going camping and hiking in the mountains.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carolyn Boyer; a brother, James Boyer, of Westville, South Carolina; two brothers-in-law, David Sutton and his wife, Rosie, of Waynesville and Melvin Sutton of Autaugaville, Alabama; as well as several loving nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Waynesville Seventh Day Adventist Church with the Pastor Tim Sheridan officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Waynesville Seventh Day Adventist Church, 119 Hampshire Drive, Waynesville, NC 28786.
